Toga Nakazawa, who won Japan's Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award at the Entrepreneurship Koshien in 2021 while a law student at the University of Tokyo, started Alumnote to create a system to funnel funds to universities in order to overcome Japan's social problem of declining international competitiveness of universities.

The company developed "Alumnote Community," which enables the creation of an alumni data platform that is easy for universities to manage, something that has been difficult with social networking services. The company aims to revitalize the alumni community with tools to streamline community management and functions that enable tracking and visualization of alumni behavior. In addition to organizing events, the system allows for donations, crowdfunding, and job board postings, aiming to sophisticating donation marketing in Japan.
